Rev. Louis S. Leigh, Jr. was licensed for the gospel ministry in 1996 and ordained in 1998. His ministry experience includes serving part-time as Youth Pastor for the Crystal Hill Baptist Church in Halifax, VA for over four years, three years as full-time Associate Pastor of Administration for Ebenezer Baptist and dualy as the Executive Director for EBC-ATOM, Inc. in Rocky Mount, NC. During this great ministerial growth opportunity, Rev. Leigh was blessed with the opportunity to manage a Community Outreach movement that secured over $2.6 million in grant funding and $4.2 million in property donations. Additionally, EBC-ATOM, Inc. in partnership with the Ebenezer Baptist Church served over 12,000 families displaced by hurricane Floyd, led a housing renovation effort both individually and in partnership with Habitat for Humanity that renovated over 35 low and moderate income homes and provided financial support and counseling for an average of 40 families per week through their outreach and life-skills ministry. On February 1, 2004, God blessed whereby Rev Leigh began his tenure as Pastor of the First African Baptist Church located at 803 Harris Street, Goldsboro, NC.
He is married to Mrs. Kesha Henderson Leigh and together they have one daughter, Kendall, and two sons, Louis S. Leigh, III (Trey) and Samuel Isaiah.
Educationally, Leigh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a minor in Religion and Philosophy, Masters in Christian Education, Masters in Accounting, Masters of Business Administration and his Doctorate in Christian Education with a concentration in Multi-Cultural Worship Studies. Pastor Leigh was blessed to be selected for participation and complete the Lilly Foundation Sponsored Lott Carey Foreign Mission International Pastoral Excellence Program (Lott Carey PEP) traveling to South America, West Indies and South Africa each April from 2006-2008 on Christian Missions with a team of twenty fellow mission-minded pastors from all parts of the United States.
Of all his experiences, Pastor Leigh’s greatest desire is sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
